🏛️ Village Clerk--Village Office

The Village Clerk serves as the official record keeper and administrative officer for the Village of Waddington. This office maintains all official village documents, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes, ensuring that the public has transparent and timely access to government information.

The Clerk acts as the liaison between the public and the Village Board, coordinates board meetings, prepares meeting agendas, and records all official actions taken. In addition, the Clerk oversees licensing, maintains election records, and provides a wide range of municipal services to residents and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all official records, minutes, and local laws of the Village.

  • Prepare agendas, attend, and record minutes for Village Board meetings.

  • Publish legal notices and handle public postings.

  • Issue licenses and permits as required by the village code.

  • Manage village elections in coordination with St. Lawrence County.

  • Provide certified copies of official documents upon request.

  • Respond to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests.

👩‍💼 Deputy Village Clerk--Village Office

The Deputy Village Clerk assists the Village Clerk in carrying out all official duties and provides administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of village government. The Deputy Clerk assumes the full responsibilities of the Village Clerk during absences and helps maintain the accuracy and efficiency of the office.

This role involves daily interaction with residents, department staff, and elected officials to ensure that services, records, and communications are delivered in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining village records, minutes, and correspondence.

  • Support the preparation and distribution of board agendas and notices.

  • Process permits, licenses, and other resident service requests.

  • Respond to public inquiries and provide information about village operations.

  • Maintain accurate financial and administrative records as assigned.

  • Perform the duties of the Village Clerk in their absence.
