The Town of Waddington is currently seeking two dedicated residents to fill volunteer vacancies on the Joint Recreation Committee.
If you care about our parks, waterfront, youth programs, and growing recreational opportunities, this is your opportunity to help shape the future of recreation in Waddington.
From summer days at the beach and youth sports to the rising popularity of adult fitness programs and pickleball, the Recreation Committee plays a key role in ensuring our community continues to thrive.
🌊 About the Role
As a committee member, you will help guide planning, budgeting, and oversight of town recreation programs and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
Collaborate on the annual recreation budget
Identify and prioritize community recreation needs
Program & Operational Support
Work closely with the Beach Director and Summer Camp Director
Ensure programs are properly staffed, equipped, and supported
Program Oversight
Support Fall Youth Cheerleading
Assist with the continued development of Pickleball and other court programs
Help maintain safe, welcoming facilities for all ages
Community Advocacy
Serve as a voice for residents
Provide input on improvements to parks, waterfront areas, courts, and seasonal programming
📋 Qualifications & Commitment
Must be 18 years or older
Must be a resident of the Town of Waddington (outside Village limits)
Attend monthly meetings (typically held the 3rd Monday of each month)
