Overview of Town Government

The Town of Waddington operates under the laws of the State of New York as a Town Government, providing essential services and representing the residents of our community. Our local government works together to maintain Waddington’s small-town values while ensuring responsible growth, fiscal accountability, and a high quality of life for all.

The Town Board serves as the legislative, governing, and policy-making body, while the Supervisor oversees daily operations, finances, and community initiatives. Supporting offices and departments ensure that town services run efficiently and remain accessible to the public.

Mayor

The Mayor is the head of the Village Government and presides over all meetings of the Village Board.  They are a voting member of the Village Board and represent the Village at all yearly civic events.  The Mayor’s duties are to provide leadership, promote teamwork among the Board, and coordinate Board activities.

Village Board

The Waddington Village Board consists of the Mayor and four elected Council Members. Together, they adopt local laws, approve budgets, and set policies for village operations. Board meetings are open to the public, and all residents are encouraged to attend or view meeting minutes online.

Town Supervisor
The Supervisor is the chief executive officer of the town, presiding over Town Board meetings and managing day-to-day operations, budgets, and long-term planning. The Supervisor represents Waddington in county and regional matters and works closely with department heads to serve residents effectively.
